Puffco is known as perhaps the top e-rig brand in the industry and their 3D Chamber atomizer, which is a direct replacement for the stock one that comes with previous generation Puffco Peak Pro dab rigs, is a must have. It’s solidly made and delivers a noticeably better experience by enabling faster full sidewall heating which equates to less resin wasted plus more vapor production. What’s not to like? They also sell a massive 3DXL version which is 78% larger in capacity but is also 50% more expensive ($125 compared to $75 for the standard 3D Chamber). Unless you have one of the newest Puffco Peak Pro rigs where the 3D comes standard, this is a purchase worth making all day.

You can immediately tell it’s a top quality atomizer by how heavy and sturdy it is when you take it out of the box. Puffco’s use of solid, clearly high grade components (mainly the enhanced ceramic bowl that heats from the sides and not just the bottom) is noticeable. The stainless steel used to house the ceramic bowl with their classic rubber top gasket are also rugged, making it perfectly designed for heat resistance top to bottom. Lastly, it seemingly has gold plated contact points which are useful as gold is highly resistant to corrosion and has excellent conductivity. It’s a well made product which is what we expect from this brand.
What sets this Puffco atomizer apart and why everyone with a Puffco Peak Pro needs one is that the functionality of the 3D Chamber is truly consistent from hit to hit. As noted above, unless you are going for monster dabs on the regular, the upgraded 3DXL version may not be necessary for most Puffco Peak Pro users. It also provides a reliably enjoyable dabbing vehicle when on the go and your rig isn’t feasible or wise. It also delivers vapor with a noticeably better flavor compared to the stock Peak Pro chamber. We can only speculate as to why, but it probably has mostly to do with the upgraded ceramic bowl and its even, full chamber heating capabilities. The ability to select your vapor level from the options: standard, high, and max is a feature we also appreciate having for ultimate temperature control of the experience.
After swapping out the stock atomizer for the Puffco 3D Chamber, I haven’t gone back and don’t ever plan on it. The rest of the TerpGuide team who have tried it agreed. The 3D chamber hasn’t failed us yet and performs the same way each time it gets used. Its optimal use case for me has been while traveling as I prefer the glass and quartz ritual at home. The chambers are almost like cars though, routine maintenance is key to its function. Cleaning the chamber regularly is crucial to the way it heats, the airflow, and the flavor. Conveniently, the Puffco Connect app, which I use every time I use the Peak Pro, keeps track of the number of dabs you take and gives you cleaning reminders based on number of times used. I appreciate that Puffco educates their customers on how to properly care for their hardware so it lasts and you don’t have to re-purchase things more than you have to.
Our overall experience with the chamber has been excellent from the moment I unboxed it. The chamber came in a really nice magnet fold box that is super sturdy and perfectly houses the chamber in a custom foam insert. What I loved most about the experience though was that when I actually attached the chamber to my Peak Pro and opened the app, it immediately recognized that I had upgraded to the 3D chamber and it showed me this graphic. It definitely feels special that they recognize the upgrade via app alongside some figures they market to promote the 3D Chamber’s capabilities. Puffco claims when using it users will get a 15% increase in vapor in their average dab, a 33% faster heating time, and 24% better efficiency (perhaps they mean less wasted resin). That seems about right across the board. It’s kind of like going from a commuter sedan to a sports car on your Peak Pro.
For about $75, the Puffco Peak Pro 3D Chamber is a noticeable upgrade from their stock atomizer. Whether you’re someone who solely dabs with a Puffco device or uses one here and there when it’s more convenient than your rig, you’ll definitely want to invest the three quarter Benjamin Franklin. Puffco also sells an XL version of the 3D Chamber (dubbed the 3DXL) which claims a 78% increase in capacity paired with a joystick carb cap, but it runs a lofty $125 and is only meant for mega globs. Our experience with the standard Puffco atomizer has been reliable, but as it gets used the ceramic bowl starts to become more porous which slowly increases the harshness of the vapor in our experience over time. As of May 2024, the New Peak Pro model comes equipped with a 3D Chamber by default. Good.
If you’re someone who loves dabbing, whether on quartz or with an e-nail, Puffco’s 3D Chamber is an equivalent option and something you should definitely try out. Even connoisseurs who prefer quartz 99% of the time will find value in owning one of these chambers for their Puffco – especially if you already have a Peak Pro but you’re still rocking the standard Puffco atomizer, it’s absolutely worth the $75 to upgrade. If you primarily take dabs with an e-rig we recommend this even more so, but even if the Puffco is just your travel companion, we still strongly suggest opting for the 3D Chamber. Like I said, once you switch over, there’s no going back.
