Kush Masters Zgiggles Strawberry Live Rosin Gummies Review
Highlights
Experience
For as long as we’ve known of the brand, Kush Masters hasn’t had an edible product—until now. That's why their newly introduced solventless gummies are an exciting drop, especially since they’re made in collaboration with other well known brands that we love and have reviewed. In this case, these strawberry flavored gummies are infused with 14er Boulder’s Zgigglez live rosin and are accurately labeled as a hybrid product. If you happen to see one of these fancy tins in your local shop, grab one and give these a try.
Packaging, Scent, & Appearance
The packaging Kush Masters chose for these gummies immediately sets them apart from the typical offerings found in Colorado's edible market. They’re enclosed in a flat slider tin with a multi-sunset-color ombré finish. The top of the container has a metallic splash printed onto it where a black and silver sticker goes that indicates the strain and brand these are brought to you in part by; Zgigglez from 14er. The tin features a practical slider lid that functions with two child-resistant buttons on both sides that are easy to operate. This combination not only complies with CO packaging regulations but also adds an element of exclusivity, making the experience of accessing the gummies feel special.
Inside the slider tin, the gummies are enclosed inside of a clear plastic compartment with individual molds for each of the ten gummies, which reminded me of a box of chocolates. The gummies themselves are a fruit-punch red color and consistent in size and rectangular shape. While the scent of these edibles is mildly sweet and fruity, it does not specifically hint at strawberry, nor does it betray their hash rosin-infused nature.
Amount Consumed
This batch tested a little high at 105 milligrams total THC for the whole package, with each strawberry gummy coming in at around 10.5 milligrams. My personal tolerance for ingestibles is quite high, so I started with two gummies, which I don’t recommend unless you’ve already experimented with edibles and you’re confident in your tolerance. For those new to edibles or unsure about their tolerance, it's generally advised to start with a dose between 2.5 - 5mg. If you find that 5mg doesn't have much effect, you might consider increasing the dose up to 10mg. Personally, if I’m aiming to get that “edibles high”, I’d normally go for 50-100 milligrams in a single sitting, but for the purpose of this review, I went for two gummies which is about 21 milligrams of THC.
Flavor(s)
Each gummy offers a tart strawberry taste that teeters between natural and artificial. The initial taste is pleasantly fruity, with a depth that suggests the use of some quality rosin. As the gummy sheers between your teeth, the slight hashy bitterness emerges and boldens, but in a way that complements the sweetness of the strawberry. The experience concludes with a definite cannabis aftertaste, which, while pronounced, does not detract from the enjoyment but rather serves as a reminder that these were made with hash rosin instead of isolate or distillate. Full disclosure, these gummies may not be for you if you tend to avoid cannabis edibles that taste like cannabis edibles. I’d suggest these for folks that appreciate the nuanced flavors that solventless hash oil adds to an edible.
Texture & Mouthfeel
Vegan and crafted into a chewy, stretchy consistency, each rectangular gummy offers a flexible feel that folds pleasingly in the mouth. This malleable texture allows for an extended savoring of the gummy's rich flavors, as it does not dissolve too quickly but rather maintains a satisfying resistance. The chewiness strikes an ideal balance—it is firm enough to provide a gratifying bite, yet soft enough to avoid any laborious chewing. Another thing to call out here in regard to the texture is that these gummies have a note printed on the side of the tin that says “I won’t melt'' which is nice to know. It’s helpful that they’ve tested that and clearly they know that people enjoying these edibles may take these outdoors on a sunny hike or paddle boarding where they could potentially heat up.
Effects
Denoted as a hybrid product on the label, I’d say these edibles fit that mold and provide a nice middle of the road experience. After about 24 hours of zero dabs, I ate two gummies in the early evening to assess their effects independently with nothing else in my system. About 30 minutes in, I had the “I’m not feeling anything, I should eat more” effect, but I fought the urge and rode it out another 30-45 minutes to see if I felt any different. To my surprise, eating just two gummies was fairly effective for me, granted it took about an hour to notice. The way I felt is best described as a little bit hazy with a slight heaviness that rested on my forehead and around my eyes. To be clear, it wasn’t a sleepy heaviness, in fact my entire experience with these edibles didn’t lead to any drowsiness really. Some spaciness and chill vibes are really the extent of what I felt after eating 21 milligrams, but the munchies did come knocking about 90 minutes in. The onset was a nice change from my usual instant and sometimes abrupt high from taking a large glob to the face. I was quite pleased with the fact that I only ate two gummies and actually felt something. If you’re a heavy dabber like me and want to be affected by edibles, Kush Masters’ strawberry solventless hash infused gummies are worth trying.
